Jeremy Clarkson caught making joke about Pistorius killing Steenkamp
Version 0 of 1. Former Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson and James May have been caught on camera making jokes about the killing of Reeva Steenkamp by Oscar Pistorius during their live show in Johannesburg. During the show, Clarkson pretended to accidentally shoot an audience member with a paintball gun, before saying “I thought he was a burglar.” According to the Daily Mirror, May then asked: “Was that member of the audience you shot in the bathroom?” The segment was filmed by audience members. Paralympic athlete Pistorius was sentenced in October to five years in jail for killing Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day 2013. Pistorius claimed he shot Steenkamp through a locked bathroom door because he thought she was a burglar. Clarkson and May were performing with co-presenter Richard Hammond under the name Clarkson, Hammond & May Live, after Clarkson’s suspension led to the BBC taking away the right to use the Top Gear brand. The trio are expected to announce within weeks they are to be reunited for a new TV show. |
