Version 0 of 1.

Police are continuing to search for the mother of a newborn boy whose body was found in a Cardiff river on Tuesday.

South Wales Police have made a direct appeal to the woman following the discovery of the body in the River Taff just after 18:00 BST.

Officers said they want to provide her with "medical and emotional support".

It is not thought the woman went into the water and police have been unable to confirm the baby's ethnicity so far.

Police have carried out house-to-house inquiries and held a news conference on Wednesday appealing for her to come forward.
