A 43-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman's body was found at a house in Bridgend county. A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a 67-year-old woman.
Officers were called to the address in Tonteg, Pencoed, on Saturday afternoon. Mark Lewis Stephens, 43, appeared at Bridgend Magistrates' Court on Monday accused of killing Rita Stephens.
The body of 67-year-old Rita Stephens was found and the man was arrested and taken to Queens Road police station in Bridgend. Her body was discovered at a home in Tonteg, Pencoed, Bridgend county.
He has also been charged with making threats to kill and will appear Bridgend Magistrates' Court on Monday. Mr Stephens is accused of murder, which is alleged to have taken place between 19 and 21 June. He has also been charged with making threats to kill, and was remanded in custody.
He spoke only to confirm his name and will appear at Cardiff Crown Court in July.
