It's about as engaging as the gigantic arms of Saddam Hussein on the way into Baghdad. They have exactly the same fascist [undertones]. At the time there were a lot of mixed feelings. I can come to work and see the Angel but then I can go home. There are people who open their curtains and it's like living with it at the bottom of the garden. But more and more people are warming to it.At the time there were a lot of mixed feelings. I'm not sure the Angel of the North is that popular locally, no-one's mentioned it to me. There is a lot of nonsense talked about it. Gateshead produced ridiculous figures saying it attracts lots of visitors to the area. I don't believe anybody visits the North East specifically to look at the Angel of the North.I'm not sure the Angel of the North is that popular locally, no-one's mentioned it to me. I keep being told that the Angel of the North has brought all this money but I don't see it on the ground. Where is this wonderful pot of gold at the end of this wonderful rainbow?
