An Albanian man who was arrested on suspicion of an immigration offence after his brain tumour surgery was cancelled is back in hospital.

Lorenc Hoxha, 27, is at Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary after reportedly collapsing in a restaurant on 10 June.

Mr Hoxha was arrested last week after a brain operation was cancelled.

The Royal Victoria Infirmary said he was back in hospital, being assessed by specialists.

He was arrested last week for allegedly no longer having leave to stay in the UK.

But he has now been given temporary permission to stay in the UK by immigration officials.

Mr Hoxha has received support from TV presenter Si King who offered to pay for the operation.
