Hopes for removing stricken boat

The RNLI is hoping to remove the stricken Portrush lifeboat from the rocks at Rathlin Island on Friday.

The Katie Hannan was forced onto the rocks by a heavy swell while attempting to rescue three people whose boat was in danger on 29 January.

The Â£2m lifeboat was drained of fuel to prevent possible pollution and stripped of equipment to await the arrival of a salvage barge from Liverpool.

A new lifeboat has taken its place in Portrush.

The North Antrim assembly member, Ian Paisley Jr, has called for an inquiry into the grounding.
