South Australia police arrested Stanford’s twin, Marcus, at a house in Forreston on Wednesday morning and a South Australian court has cleared the way for the man to be extradited to Sydney from Adelaide.
Marcus appeared in handcuffs at Mount Barker magistrates court on Wednesday and, when asked if he knew anything about the warrant for his arrest, Stanford told the court he did not and indicated he had not spoken to a lawyer.
Asked if there was any reason why he should return to Leeton, he said: “Never been there, so I wouldn’t need to return.”
Marcus will spend the night in Adelaide and is scheduled to fly to NSW on Thursday morning where he will appear in the Sydney central local court.
Once in NSW he is expected to be charged with being an accessory after the fact in connection with the murder of Scott.
Vincent Stanford was charged with murder and aggravated sexual assault on 8 April. |
