Southern Rail e-cigarette ban to be introduced
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-33062946 Version 0 of 1. Southern Rail is to introduce a ban on e-cigarettes across all of its services and at stations. Passengers will be unable to use the devices on trains and at stations operated by the company, from 26 July. It brings the operator, which runs the Gatwick Express service, in line with other firms in the Govia Thameslink Railway franchise. Thameslink and Great Northern have already banned the devices, as have Transport for London. Southern manages 156 stations in London, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Kent, and the firm says passengers make an average of 446,500 journeys per day on its trains. |
