| A County Monaghan athlete has said he is considering "giving up his career" after his carbon fibre blade - a running leg for amputees - was stolen from a vehicle outside his home. | |

| Its owner, 42-year-old Shane McLoughlin, said he was sickened by the theft. | |

| Mr Loughlin is taking part in an international athletics meeting in Berlin in 10 days and will be unable to take part if the blade is not recovered. | |
