Churchwarden Anne Dunkley, 67, was found on the floor of the property in Elmdon Road, Marston Green, on Friday. She died later in hospital. A post-mortem examination showed she sustained multiple injuries. A man, aged 38, who suffered facial injuries, has since been released from hospital. A 24-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder. Reverend Penny Harrison, from St Leonard's Church in the village, said Mrs Dunkley had been a churchwarden there for seven years. "This is a huge shock for us all," she said. "Anne was a churchwarden for seven years and served the church and community tirelessly, with great humour and seemingly boundless energy. "Anne is a great loss to everyone but most especially to her family." |
