M25 blocked after two-vehicle crash at Waltham Abbey M25 shut and lorry driver hurt in crash near Waltham Abbey

A crash involving a refuse vehicle and a motorbike has blocked all four clockwise lanes of the M25 in Essex. The driver of a lorry has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash on the M25 in Essex.
Essex Police said the extent of people's injuries was "not clear at this stage". The accident, which also involved a motorbike, happened near Bell Common tunnel, between J26 for Waltham Abbey and J27 for the M11 at 15:15 BST.
The accident happened near to Bell Common tunnel between junctions 26 for Waltham Abbey and 27 for the M11 at about 15:15 BST. The carriageway has been closed between J25 and J27 and drivers have been asked to avoid the area.
Emergency services are at the scene and drivers have been advised to avoid the area. The injured driver has been airlifted to hospital. The closure is expected to remain in place into the evening.
The Highways Agency said there were severe delays in the area. Crews from other emergency services are also on the scene and diversions are in place.
Jax McLeod, who is stuck in the traffic, said there were many police and fire crews at the scene.
