Workers are planning an overtime ban from 26 February and temporary work stoppages, union Impact has said. The controllers are in dispute over staffing levels and the amount of overtime they are being asked to do as a result. The authority said it was "disappointed" by the move, which could affect all flights. It claimed it was a "blatant breach" of the national wage agreement, Towards 2016. Over the weekend 99% of controllers voted in favour of industrial action. An IAA statement said: "This has the potential to cause major disruptions to airlines and to the travelling public." There have been a number of hearings before Ireland's Labour Relations Commission (LRC) in an attempt to resolve the dispute and talks resume again next Tuesday, 19 February. |
