The Intercept published an extensive investigation by Erika Eichelberger last Friday, May 29 of Corizon’s treatment of inmates at the Rikers Island Women’s Jail. Eichelberger details the death of a 61-year-old female prisoner with liver failure, apparently due to Corizon’s neglect; another inmate whose concussion wasn’t diagnosed for six days; a diabetic given a dangerously-high dosage of insulin; and other patients whose important medications were discontinued.
