Tyler Blansit: Man killed mother with baseball bat after arguing over college grades, say police

Version 0 of 1. Police in Alabama said they believe a young man killed his mother with a baseball bat after they got into an argument over his college grades. Tyler Blansit, 22, was charged with murder after he called the emergency services to his home in DeKalb County. Once police arrived, they discovered the body of his mother, Sherry Blansit, 45, in the back garden. Mentone Police Chief Brad Gregg told CNN that the man told officers he killed his mother after they fought over his college grades. The young man is a student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and he is currently waiting to learn of his academic scores. His father was at work at the time, police said. Mr Blansit has been charged with murder and is being held in jail, the police said. It is not clear whether he has yet been assigned a lawyer. |
