Highbridge man found dead in submerged car in Mark is named by police

A man who was found dead in a submerged car in a drainage ditch has been named.

Robert Goodwin, from Highbridge, died when the car he was travelling in left The Causeway, Mark, in the early hours of Saturday, police said.

A 27-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on bail.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said inquires into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.
