A man who suffered serious head injuries when a double decker bus crashed into a railway bridge is in a stable condition in hospital. The bus had been diverted along Prince of Wales Road in north London because of a fire at Camden market on Saturday. Five other people who were injured when the route 24 bus roof was ripped off on Monday morning have left hospital. Transport for London (TfL) is investigating the crash along with the bus operator, London General. The bus from Hampstead Heath to Pimlico, which was diverted from Chalk Farm Road, crashed near the junction with Talacre Road. Several people, including the driver, were treated for shock by paramedics at the scene. Saturday night's fire caused serious damage to the area's famous market. Storage buildings for the market and the nearby Hawley Arms pub were also damaged and local residents had to leave their homes. |
