| A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to eight years in a young offenders' institution for grooming a young man with learning difficulties to kill a UK soldier. | |

| Sentencing, judge Richard Marks QC told Islam he had shown neither remorse nor insight into the seriousness of what he had done. | |
| His behaviour towards Mr Thomas, who suffered from Asperger's syndrome and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), was an aggravating feature, he said. | |
| The judge continued: "Even on your own account, that you knew he was an extremely vulnerable young man, your treatment of him was as callous as it was manipulative." |
