Sam Newman, who lives in Bilton Grove, said: "I came out and I saw him lying on the pavement. About 10 minutes later the ambulance arrived.
"I heard his mum crying and screaming. There were a lot of neighbours outside but we couldn't get near the crime scene.
"Someone had put a cover over him but he was losing a lot of blood."
