Larne: Flats evacuated as 'legal highs' shop targeted again

A County Antrim shop that sells legal highs has been targeted for a second time in an arson attack.

Residents living in flats above the shop at Dunluce Street, Larne, had to leave their homes because of the blaze.

The shop's shutters were pulled up and flammable liquid, believed to be petrol, was poured inside and set alight at about 01:30 BST on Monday.

Three flats above the shop were evacuated while fire fighters tackled the blaze.

Police have appealed to anyone with information to contact them.

The first arson attack happened on 2 May.

A number of residents had to be moved from their homes overnight due to an arson attack on a shop which sells 'legal highs' in Larne, County Antrim.

The residents live in flats above the shop on Dunluce Street that was set on fire during the early hours of Saturday.

Police said shutters had been forced open and a fire was started in the shop which caused damage to the property.

The fire was reported to police at about 03.45 GMT.

The residents have since been allowed to return to their homes.
