It was a packed court room, illustrating the interest in the case, not least because of the age of the defendants.
Most had grey or white hair. Two of them had to have questions repeated to them because they were hard of hearing.
But all have been charged with involvement in the theft of what the prosecution said was around £10m worth of valuables.
