A Fugro spokesperson later said: "As a precaution, all non-essential personnel onboard were immediately evacuated. No-one was injured.
"The fire was contained in a small area of the vessel. All personnel returned to the vessel once it was confirmed safe to do so.
"A Fugro team are onboard to investigate the cause of the incident."
