A group of female peace advocates, including Gloria Steinem and two Nobel laureates, arrived Tuesday in Pyongyang for a march across the Demilitarized Zone this weekend. The rare crossing of the DMZ, approved by both Koreas, is intended as a symbolic step toward ending the tensions between the Koreas, which have technically been at war since the 1950-53 hostilities between them ended in an armistice, not a peace treaty. Critics accuse the group of being propaganda pawns for the totalitarian North Korean government.
