Version 0 of 1.

Two men have been convicted of the killing of a man stabbed to death of a man at his Sheffield home.

Mohammed Khalil, 42, was found with serious injuries at his home in Greenland Drive in October. He died later in hospital.

Corry Walters, 22, of Stubbin Lane, Sheffield, was found guilty of murder and Connor O'Brien, 26, of Jubilee Road, Sheffield, was found guilty of manslaughter at the city's crown court.

They will be sentenced on 8 June.

Callum Walters, 21, of Valentine Crescent, Sheffield, and Nicole Poppe 22, of Rolleston Road, Sheffield were convicted of perverting the course of justice.

Police said the pair had followed a witness and made threats in order to get him to withdraw his evidence.

'Senseless actions'

The court heard Mr Khalil was stabbed several times after he opened the door to Walters and O'Brien, who had come to collect a drug debt.

In a statement Mr Khalil's family said: "The cowardly and senseless actions that took place on Khalil's doorstep in the early hours of 21 October will permanently remain with the family.

"Khalil had moved to Sheffield for a new life, yet his life was extinguished and he was denied the chance to settle down, get married, have children.

"What happened serves to remind all of us about the evils of drugs and knives and the absolute devastation and destruction these evils can cause and indeed have caused."
