"Belfast Harbour police (BHP) has received a report of a missing passenger on this morning's Liverpool to Belfast sailing," a spokesman said. The Stena ferry arrived in Belfast at 06:29 BST, the coastguard service confirmed.
"Details have been reported to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, which is coordinating a sea search in the area of the vessel's route to Belfast. Stena said they would not be commenting as an investigation was under way.
