Man charged with manslaughter over Huddersfield street death

A man has been charged in connection with the death of a man following an assault on Wednesday.

Adrian Smith, 69, was attacked near the KFC on New Street, Huddersfield, and died in hospital on Thursday.

Police said a 30-year-old man from Halifax had been charged with manslaughter and would appear before magistrates in Bradford later.

A second man arrested in connection with the incident has been released without charge.
