Version 0 of 1.

A man who attempted to lure a teenage girl into his car is being hunted by police.

The incident happened at about 2130 BST on Wednesday in Ardishaig near Lochgilphead, as the girl walked home.

The 15-year-old was making her way along the A83 when she was approached by the man travelling in a white Peugeot Estate.

The suspect is described as aged 30, with a heavy build, pointed chin and a broad English accent.

Officers say when the girl refused the man's request to get into the vehicle the driver became aggressive and only left the scene after another motorist, possibly in a dark green Vauxhall Astra intervened.

'Frightening experience'

The suspect drove off in the Tarbert direction.

The girl, who was uninjured but badly shaken, made her way home and reported the incident to police the following day.

Officers believe the suspect's car was an older style white Peugeot 306 Estate with a red panel on the driver's door.

The car also had white number plates to the front and back and the blue circle of stars for the European Union upon it.

Detective Constable Hector MacDonald said: "This was a very frightening experience for this young girl and she has been left very badly shaken as a result.

"Fortunately the girl was able to get away before anything happened, however this man could strike again and we are determined to trace him."
