Fire crews damp down after Saltney warehouse blaze

Firefighters are dampening down at the scene of a storage warehouse blaze in Flintshire which led to 40 people being evacuated.

Crews were called to the building housing waste and carpets in Saltney shortly after 11:30 BST on Wednesday.

The fire involved recycled waste. Workers at 11 industrial units were evacuated.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said they expect crews to remain on the scene overnight.

At the height of the fire, firefighters from Deeside, Chester, Holywell, Rhyl and Wrexham were called to the scene.
