Nepal earthquake video: Watch 'mini tsunami' form in Kathmandu hotel swimming pool during April's massive tremors
Version 0 of 1. A video has emerged showing a “mini tsunami” in a hotel swimming pool during the massive 7.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal last month. The clip was captured by a Dutch couple as they swam in a hotel pool in Kathmandu. Luckily, most of the swimmers had exited the pool before the main tremors launched water out of the pool. Children's screams can be heard as parents attempt to comfort their terrified kids in the aftermath of the earthquake. The video also captures massive waves being created in the pool, which give an idea of how tsunamis can be formed out at sea. The earthquake that hit Nepal last month was the biggest to hit the mountainous nation since 1934. The latest video comes on the day that another fatal tremor with a magnitude of 7.3 hit Nepal. The epicentre of the tremor was in the area just west of Mount Everest and comes at a time when the country is still coming to terms with the devastation caused by last month’s quake. Dozens have so far been confirmed dead in the aftermath of the latest earthquake and that number is expected to rise as bodies are pulled from the rubble. |
