Tom Brady: Quarterback suspended for four games as punishment for Deflategate scandal

Version 0 of 1. Tom Brady, one of America’s most famous famous athletes, has been suspended for four games as part of a punishment against his team over the so-called Deflategate scandal. Brady, 37, probably the most celebrated quarterback currently playing, was informed of his decision by officials from the National Football League. His team, the New England Patriots, has been fine $1m and been told it will lost two draft picks. Brady was suspended “for conduct detrimental to the integrity of the NFL” after a 243-page report released last week by lawyer Ted Wells indicated he was aware of the activities of two low-level team employees. The scandal relates to the releasing of pressure in the balls used in a championship game in January, a clash which propelled the team to the Superbowl, which they subsequently won. Lowering of pressure in balls makes it easier for the quarterback to catch and throw the ball. |
