Ward closes after scabies cases

A hospital ward has been closed to new admissions after four members of staff and one patient were diagnosed as suffering from scabies.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said those affected by the skin condition were being treated.

Treatment has also been offered to other staff and patients on the ward and close contacts of those affected.

A health board spokesman said: "All necessary infection control measures have been immediately implemented."
