Sorry, they've not even started counting the votes for Nigel Farage's target Thanet South yet
Version 0 of 1. Vote-counting has not even started in Nigel Farage’s target seat, according to people at the election count. Thanet South, which polls have variously shown the Ukip leader winning and losing, has been beset by delays with a result not now expected until 11am. Counting for the North Thanet constituency is currently taking place in the hall, according to a reporter working for the Wall Street Journal. Ballot boxes for Thanet South are still dormant, however. Sky News confirmed at 6.58am on Friday that the count had not started but said it would be beginning soon. The counting hall. South Thanet counting still hasn't started. They're counting North Thanet in this pic. pic.twitter.com/SBQr7ZSF2r The slowdown has been blamed on a delay in the arrival of postal vote ballot boxes. The revelation will come as a blow to anyone who has stayed up all night with the hope of watching Mr Farage’s result. The Ukip leader has said he will stand down from his position in the party if he does not win the seat. |
