What songs would you add to our general election playlist?
Version 0 of 1. Merry general election day! It’s set to be a close one, so the political enthusiasts among us are likely to be up all night. As we did for the Scottish independence vote, we’d like your help to create a playlist to help you through the final part of the 2015 general election. Here are a few suggestions to get you started, courtesy of our colleagues and Twitter. Cue Radiohead. Before the long, long night of counting gets underway, votes need to be cast – get filling those blank spaces (er... boxes) people! The next few are dedicated to those of you planning to stay up all night as the results come in. YOU’RE GOING TO BE UP ALL NIGHT, WE’RE SO SO SORRY. Here’s some Take That. Just remember: we’ve got to get through this. There are so many, many more we could add, but we’d rather leave that to you. UPDATE - here are some of your suggestions: Blowing in the Wind seems appropriate for this election, but would hope Beyonce's Irreplaceable will be the outcome - To the left, To the left, To the left. "The Disappointed" by XTC. I have a very strong memory of Simon Mayo playing this just after 8am on the morning following the 1992 General Election and dedicating it to Neil Kinnock.
