Christopher Wade stabbing: Five arrested in murder probe

Christopher Wade, 27, of Leeds, died on Wednesday after being attacked near the Butterbowl pub in Butterbowl Drive, Farnley, on Tuesday afternoon. A 27-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of murder, West Yorkshire Police said. Two men, aged 42 and 45, and a 31-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All five were detained in Manchester on Wednesday. A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Wade died as a result of a single stab wound to the leg. Det Ch Insp Jim Dunkerley, of West Yorkshire Police's homicide and major enquiry team, said: "We are continuing to appeal for information and would still like to hear from anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident. "We now believe there were around eight people in the area at the time of the incident and I would urgently like to hear from these people." |
