Version 0 of 1.

TOWIE's Joey Essex has followed in Russell Brand's footsteps following the broadcast of his political TV show, Educating Joey Essex.

The ITV programme saw Essex - real name - join the campaign trail with Ed Miliband, Nick Clegg and Nigel Farage. Essex learned lots, including the fact that Clegg's name isn't "Nick Leg" and that his party aren't the "Demo-cats".

This is pretty good going for Essex, who once asked who the Prime Minister of Essex was.

Educating Joey Essex saw the star go from political naif, saying things like: "Government is a person who rules the world" and thinking SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon was Anne Robinson, to comparative heavyweight.

"I’ve learnt that Parliament is not a person, it’s a thing. It's a house," he says.

He also concludes that "MPs are quite childish" and that doing the show was "the most sickest experience I’ve ever had in my life".

However, Essex does issue a rousing speech to convince young people how important politics is. "Politics is in our head," he explains. "It's in the country, it's in Grimsby, it affects poor people, it affects rich people, it affects Essex. Politics is everywhere, it’s in the air.

"My conclusion with the General Election is just, always vote. Be a voter. Stand up. Vote."

Essex and Russell Brand are finally singing from the same hymn sheet, with Brand urging his followers to head down to the polling stations on Thursday.

However, while Brand urged his followers to vote Labour or Green, Essex wouldn't be drawn on who he's backing. Mysterious.
