While those campaigning for election were quick to offer the Duke and Duchess their congratulations on the birth, products began to spring up ranging from a china teddy bear to the Royal Mint’s commemorative £5 coin. Some people weren't content to read the story just once and started piling up the papers to show their coverage of the birth. Canadians were decidedly upbeat about the announcement, with the Ottawa Sun leading with the news. As were media in New Zealand, India and France.
