2.13pm BST14:13

CRAWLEY, LEYTON ORIENT AND NOTTS COUNTY ARE RELEGATED

Colchester’s win over Preston has kept the U’s up as Crawley, Orient and Notts County are condemned to League Two next season.

Updated at 2.16pm BST

2.11pm BST14:11

MK DONS ARE PROMOTED!!

A 5-1 win coupled with Preston’s defeat at Colchester sees MK Dons promoted to the Championship.

2.11pm BST14:11

Doncaster 5-2 Scunthorpe: And Hakeeb Adelakun has scored an equally meaningless goal for the Iron.

2.10pm BST14:10

Port Vale 1-2 Fleetwood: Michael O’Connor pulls a thoroughly irrelevant goal back for Port Vale.

2.10pm BST14:10

Barnsley 5-0 Rochdale: Sam Winnall has scored.

2.09pm BST14:09

FT! Colchester 1-0 Preston: Colchester have saved themselves. George Moncur’s winner keeps the U’s in League One and condemns Preston to the play-offs.

Updated at 2.50pm BST

2.08pm BST14:08

Gillingham 3-1 Notts County: Oh dear, oh dear. Desperately pushing for an equaliser, County are hit on the counter and Luke Morris hammers in the final nail.

2.07pm BST14:07

Bristol City 8-2 Walsall: Not Aden Flint this time but Kieran Agard with his second in the Robins’ promotion party.

2.07pm BST14:07

Barnsley 4-0 Rochdale: Conor Hourihane has scored.

Updated at 2.46pm BST

2.06pm BST14:06

Gillingham 2-1 Notts County: That appears to be curtains for County unless Preston can find an equaliser – Brennan Dickenson puts Gillingham ahead at Prestfield.

2.05pm BST14:05

Swindon 2-2 Leyton Orient: And that’s pretty much it for Orient as well. Andy Williams levels from the penalty spot for 10-man Swindon and the O’s are all but done.

2.04pm BST14:04

Crawley 1-2 Coventry: That’s Crawley’s fate effectively sealed. James Maddison slots home after some mindless defending from the Red Devils, Coventry fans can breathe easy.

Updated at 2.44pm BST

2.02pm BST14:02

Bristol City 7-2 Walsall: That’s a hat-trick for Bristol City’s centre-half Aden Flint, who now has 14 goals this season. Wowsers.

2.01pm BST14:01

Barnsley 3-0 Rochdale: Mason Holgate has scored.

Updated at 2.37pm BST

2.01pm BST14:01

Gillingham 1-1 Notts County: All change again! John Egan’s leveller for Gillingham puts the Magpies back in the bottom four and Crewe are now out of the drop-zone again. Blimey! Who’d be a Crewe fan today?

1.59pm BST13:59

Doncaster 5-1 Scunthorpe: Nathan Tyson completes his hat-trick with another penalty against Scunthorpe, smashing it down the middle.

1.58pm BST13:58

As it stands

After that Colchester goal, MK Dons are all but promoted while at the bottom it is Crawley, Leyton Orient and Crewe joining Yeovil in League One. Goals for Gillingham or Preston would change all that though.

1.56pm BST13:56

Oldham 1-1 Peterborough: Michael Bostwick has equalised for Peterborough in a match that matter little.

Updated at 2.35pm BST

1.55pm BST13:55

Colchester 1-0 Preston: George Moncur’s ninth goal of the season has all but ended Preston’s hopes of automatic promotion while Colchester may have just saved themselves. It’s tidy slotted finish from Moncur after good hold-up play from Chris Porter. Crewe are back in trouble at the foot of the table.

1.52pm BST13:52

Barnsley 2-0 Rochdale: Josh Scowen now has a double at Oakwell. That is all.

Updated at 2.21pm BST

1.51pm BST13:51

Doncaster 4-1 Scunthorpe: Nathan Tyson showing the others how it’s done by converting from the spot for his second. This one is surely over now.

Updated at 2.20pm BST

1.50pm BST13:50

MK Dons 5-1 Yeovil: Goal 101 of the season for MK Dons, Dean Lewington with his second of the match. This one has long been in the bag for the Dons but Preston can still deny them.

1.49pm BST13:49

Colchester 0-0 Preston: What a miss! A superb cross from Preston’s Daniel Johnson finds Joe Garner, the league’s top scorer, unmarked at the far post but he heads just wide.

1.47pm BST13:47

Crawley 1-1 Coventry: Another towering header at the Broadfield Stadium from Coventry’s Marcus Tudgay has put the cat among the relegation pigeons. Crawley are back down to 22nd and Crewe are just above the line.

Updated at 2.18pm BST

1.44pm BST13:44

Barnsley 1-0 Rochdale: Josh Scowen has put Barnsley ahead in a match that we’ve not touched on yet. Rochdale are down to 10 by the by. Joe Rafferty has picked up two yellow cards to bring an early end to his season.

Updated at 2.17pm BST

1.43pm BST13:43

Bristol City 6-2 Walsall: Start the car! That’s another for Aden Flint, No13 of the season, and the Robins are rocking!

1.42pm BST13:42

Swindon 1-2 Leyton Orient: Swindon have a goal back and this one is worth a watch. A free-kick just on the edge of the Orient area is knocked to Anton Rodgers who flicks the ball up before smashing a right-footed volley into the top corner. Tasty.

Updated at 2.10pm BST

1.40pm BST13:40

Colchester 0-0 Preston: Preston have stepped it up a notch. An almighty scramble in the Colchester box is swiftly followed by Jermaine Beckford just failing to meet a flashing cross across the face.

Updated at 1.42pm BST

1.39pm BST13:39

Bristol City 5-2 Walsall: Yep, Walsall are done for. That’s two in two minutes for the champions, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas with his second of the game, powering into the area before lashing home.

1.38pm BST13:38

Bristol City 4-2 Walsall: Marlon Pack has given Bristol City their fourth goal of the match and you get the feeling Walsall are done for now.

1.36pm BST13:36

Gillingham 0-1 Notts County: This is a massive goal from Graham Burke. Crewe were let off the hook by Colchester but Notts County have heaped the pressure on the Alex with Burke lashing home. Coventry also looking precarious but safe at present on goal difference.

As it stands then, the bottom four are Crewe, Leyton Orient, Colchester and Yeovil.

Updated at 2.08pm BST

1.34pm BST13:34

Bristol City 3-2 Walsall: The champions are back in front in this five-goal thriller, Kieran Agard on target on 57 minutes. The Robins faithful are enjoying themselves again.

Updated at 1.59pm BST

1.33pm BST13:33

Doncaster 3-1 Scunthorpe: More own goal news. This time Andy Butler beating his own goalkeeper to pull one back for the Iron at the Keepmoat.

1.33pm BST13:33

MK Dons 4-1 Yeovil: Now that’s surprise. Yeovil have one back, Jordan Spence putting through his own net at stadium:mk.

1.31pm BST13:31

Colchester missed penalty

Colchester 0-0 Preston: Sam Johnstone obviously paid no attention to Grayson’s rocket and after shooting off his line he brings down George Moncur. It’s Chris Porter who steps up and it’s an awful penalty, at least five yards over the bar! That’s the third missed penalty of the day and it’s a let-off for Crewe who would have slipped into the bottom four in place of Colchester had Porter found the net.

Updated at 1.31pm BST

1.27pm BST13:27

Sheffield United 1-1 Chesterfield: The race for fifth is back on! Ian Evatt levels for the Spireites. Another for the visitors and they will leapfrog their hosts into fifth place.

1.26pm BST13:26

Swindon 0-2 Leyton Orient: The O’s are doing everything they can to stay in League One – Chris Dagnall has doubled their advantage at the County Ground but they remain in trouble with Crawley in front against Coventry.

1.25pm BST13:25

Colchester 0-0 Preston: A shocking attempt from North End’s Paul Gallagher. The ball bobbled after a pull-back to the edge of the area but that one is a mile over the bar and still travelling

1.23pm BST13:23

Crawley 1-0 Coventry: A towering header from Mathias Pogba means it’s all change at the bottom. Crawley are now safe as things stand, with Leyton Orient now slipping back into the drop-zone despite leading at Swindon.

Updated at 1.54pm BST

1.21pm BST13:21

Colchester 0-0 Preston: That is poor from Jermaine Beckford. He was closing in on goal but a heavy touch allowed Tom Eastman to come across and make the tackle.

1.19pm BST13:19

We’re back underway at Colchester. Both sides need to win but at the moment it’s 0-0. Something must give …

Updated at 1.19pm BST

1.08pm BST13:08

Doncaster 3-0 Scunthorpe: This one is still going – maybe their not going to bother with half-time. Rob Jones has made it 3-0 to Rovers. It’s half-time there now. Not so exciting.

Updated at 1.53pm BST

1.07pm BST13:07

Half-time update

As it stands, MK Dons are 4-0 to the good against Yeovil and are on their way to the Championship with Preston still goalless at Colchester. Leyton Orient, 23rd at the start of the day, are the only side in the bottom six in front and as a result it is Notts County who are currently joining Crawley, Colchester and Yeovil in League Two.

1.03pm BST13:03

Let-off for Preston: Jacob Murphy’s audacious lob from wide on the left, over the onrushing Sam Johnstone, who can expect a rocket from Larry Grayson at half-time, drifts just wide. It’s still 0-0 and it’s now half-time.

1.02pm BST13:02

Coventry missed penalty!

Crawley 0-0 Coventry: That is massive. Nick Proschwitz has been anything but prolific for the Sky Blues and his spot-kick is superbly saved by Brian ‘the Beast’ Jensen low down to his right. That is a missed chance for Cov to pull clear of danger.

12.59pm BST12:59

MK Dons 4-0 Yeovil: That didn’t take long. That’s a century for the Dons. Will Grigg nodding home Carl Baker’s cross at the far post for his 20th league goal of the season. The mathematicians among you will already know that Grigg has scored a fifth of the Dons’ goals in League One.

12.57pm BST12:57

Swindon 0-1 Leyton Orient: This is a massive goal in the context of Survival Sunday. Dean Cox has put Orient ahead against 10-man Swindon and, as the only one of the bottom six currently ahead, the O’s have their virtual heads above water in the as-it-stands table, Notts County slipping into the bottom four.

Updated at 1.51pm BST

12.56pm BST12:56

MK Dons 3-0 Yeovil: The Dons are running riot. Dean Lewington turns provider this time, head a deep centre back across goal for Darren Potter to lash home on the volley. That’s 99 league goals for the Dons this season and they’re certainties to hit three figures.

12.55pm BST12:55

Bristol City 2-2 Walsall: The Saddlers are certainly playing their part in this entertaining end-of-season clash. Jordy Hiwula has a second and it’s level again at Ashton Gate.

12.54pm BST12:54

Doncaster 2-0 Scunthorpe: Nathan Tyson has made it 2-0 to Rovers. Apparently this is a derby but it’s a pretty one-sided one at present.

Updated at 1.44pm BST

12.53pm BST12:53

Sheffield United 1-0 Chesterfield: Remember the race for fifth? Well it’s Sheffield United who look on course to face Swindon in the play-offs, Marc McNulty opening the scoring on 34 minutes.

Updated at 1.43pm BST

12.52pm BST12:52

Colchester 0-0 Preston: It’s cagey at Colchester. The U’s have grown into the game after some early North End pressure. Visiting fans will no doubt be aware of MK Dons’ latest score but Jermaine Beckford almost put their fate back in their own hands, denied by Sam Walker at full stretch.

12.45pm BST12:45

Port Vale 0-2 Fleetwood: Mark Roberts makes it two to the visitors on 26 minutes, bundling in from close range.

Updated at 1.41pm BST

12.43pm BST12:43

MK Dons 2-0 Yeovil: Dean Lewington has put the Dons two the good with a delightful free-kick and it’s likely to be a whole lot more against a Yeovil side who can’t wait for the season to finish. With Preston toiling at Colchester, it’s advantage Dons.

12.41pm BST12:41

Crewe 0-1 Bradford: Bad news for the Alex. Billy Clarke lashes home after Crewe fail to clear a long free-kick to put the Bantams in front. Crewe are still safe as it stands,

Updated at 12.41pm BST

12.40pm BST12:40

Bristol City 2-1 Walsall: Jay Emanuel-Thomas’s takes some penalty. The former Arsenal youngster strolls up to the ball on the spot and rolls the ball home to give the Robins the lead midway through the first half.

Updated at 1.39pm BST

12.38pm BST12:38

Port Vale 0-1 Fleetwood: The Cod Army are ahead in another dead rubber, Josh Morris finding the net on 17 minutes.

12.37pm BST12:37

Leyton Orient missed penalty!

Swindon’s keeper Tyrell Belford may just have clinched the award for daftest sending off of the season on the final day, bringing down Orient’s Chris Dagnall. Lloyd James is the taker – the substitute keeper is Tyrell’s brother Cameron Belford – and he’s saved it!

Updated at 1.37pm BST

12.33pm BST12:33

Bristol City 1-1 Walsall: Normal service resumed at Ashton Gate. Aden Flint lashes home his 12th goal of the season for the champions on 16 minutes. No mean feat for a centre-half.

Updated at 1.35pm BST

12.32pm BST12:32

Doncaster 1-0 Scunthorpe: Rovers are ahead in this 14th v 15th clash; Niall Canavan has put through his own net at the Keepmoat Stadium.

12.30pm BST12:30

Bristol City 0-1 Walsall: This isn’t in the script. The Robins are supposed to be celebrating the league title at Ashton Gate, but perhaps a little too much. Walsall are ahead through Jordy Hiwula.

12.29pm BST12:29

Oldam 1-0 Peterborough: In a match that matters little, Posh are head thanks to Dominic Poleon’s ninth-minute effort.

Updated at 1.26pm BST

12.28pm BST12:28

Milton Keynes, of course, is not only famed for its roundabouts. It’s also home to Great Britain’s elite badminton players and the Dons have a fan one former shuttler …

Come on MKDons!! @MKDonsFC

12.25pm BST12:25

MK Dons 1-0 Yeovil: Carl Baker rifles home from the edge of the box on seven minutes to pile the pressure on Preston. As it stands the Dons are in second spot.

Battle for survival

Where to start … we’ll, Coventry, Crewe and Notts County all currently have their heads above water but will know Crawley, Colchester and Leyton Orient are all ready to pounce below them. Four points separate Coventry in 18th and Orient in 23rd but all six sides may find themselves heading for League Two in a couple of hours. Crawley, in 21st, host Coventry. Even more exciting.

11.41am BST11:41

It would be remiss of me not to mention the tussle for fifth place and the right to face Swindon in the play-offs. Sheffield United, currently in fifth, are two points above sixth-placed Chesterfield, who, lo and behold, they host today. Exciting.

Race for promotion

Time for a quick recap on the battle for second place. Preston currently have 89 points in second while MK Dons have 88 but a vastly superior goal difference. A Preston victory at Colchester guarantees promotion but failure to win would mean three points for MK Dons at home to Yeovil is enough for Karl Robinson’s side. A defeat for Preston would also ensure a draw for MK Dons is enough.

Team news is beginning to filter through, I’ll have the line-ups for you in full in due course.

11.00am BST11:00

Good morning League One fans and welcome to what will from this moment forth be known as ‘Survival Sunday’. A pulsating season in England’s third tier comes to a conclusion today and while Bristol City have long been crowned champions, there remains plenty up for grabs on Survival Sunday. Yeovil have already slipped out of the division but there are no less than six teams scrapping to avoid the dread trapdoor on Survival Sunday.

Crawley, Colchester and Leyton Orient occupy places 21, 22 and 23 on 50, 49 and 48 points respectively but Coventry, 18th on 52 points, Crewe 19th also on 52 points with a shocking goal difference and Notts County, 20th on 50 points are all nervously looking over their shoulder.

At the top meanwhile, Preston are in second, a point and a place above MK Dons, in the race for the second automatic promotion spot. The Dons host Yeovil while Preston travel to Colchester, who, as aforementioned, have plenty to worry about themselves on Survival Sunday. As a result, and largely thanks to TV scheduling, that match will be our main focus as well as updates from all around the grounds.

Survival Sunday.
