US schoolboy tells President Obama to be quiet

Version 0 of 1. An 11-year-old schoolboy in the United States politely asked President Barack Obama to just stop waffling on, winning plaudits online. Osman Yahya, who is in sixth grade - equivalent to Year Seven - at Bennett Middle School in Maryland, was hosting a friendly question and answer session with the US president and his fellow pupils at Anacostia library, Washington. Mr Obama, who has written three books, was queried about writers block but his long-winded reply apparently failed to satisfy chair of the discussion Mr Yahya on Thursday. “Mr. President, let’s move on to the next question,” the serious schoolboy told the president. When another student asked Mr Obama if he enjoyed poetry, Mr Yahya jumped in. “I think you’ve sort of covered everything about that question,” he told the amused-looking president. The question and answer session was the high point of a “virtual field trip,” hosted by Discovery Education as part of their “Of The People” series, reported TIME, which allows children across the US an insight into the decision-making process at the top of their country. Yesterday’s discussion was part of a White House initiative to encourage children to access their libraries. Meanwhile, on social media, political commentators weighed in with their assessment of Mr Yahya’s performance.
