Planned industrial action by staff at Windsor Castle in a row over pay has been suspended.

Members of the Public and Commercial Services union had voted by 84% in favour of action short of a strike.

The union said the 76 wardens involved in the dispute carried out extra duties such as giving tours of the castle to fee-paying visitors, without pay.

The PCS said it was considering a "significantly improved" pay offer with progress made in ongoing talks.
