Autumn Gooch death: Mother charged with neglect

A mother has been charged with neglect in connection with the death of her 19-month-old daughter, police have said.

Nikki Gooch, 28, from Maulden in Bedfordshire, was arrested on Monday following the "unexplained" death of Autumn Gooch at an address in the village on 11 April.

Officers said the results of a post-mortem examination were inconclusive.

Ms Gooch has been remanded in custody to appear at Luton Crown Court later this month.

A serious case review by the Central Bedfordshire Safeguarding Children Board is now under way.
