Child dies in 'tragic accident'
(about 1 hour later) | |
A two-year-old girl has been found dead in her bedroom in Menstrie in Clackmannanshire.
Central Scotland Police said the child, who has yet to be named, died as a result of a "tragic accident" at her home.
The toddler was discovered by a family member at about 1630 GMT on Tuesday.
She was taken to Stirling Royal Infirmary but was pronounced dead by doctors. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
Police said that a report into the circumstances of the accident would be submitted to the procurator fiscal at Alloa, as is standard procedure with any sudden death.
The force, which has not issued any further details about the accident, said it was supporting the child's family. |
