Version 0 of 1.

A BBC radio presenter bullied a man he met at a party before raping him at his home, a court heard.

Nigel Wrench, 47, took the 26-year-old to his flat in Finsbury Park, north London, on 1 January 2007.

His alleged victim told the Old Bailey how he felt "violated" after he was drugged by Mr Wrench and woke up to find himself being sexually assaulted.

Mr Wrench, a presenter on the BBC Radio 4 PM programme, denies rape, sexual assault and drugging his victim.

The man, now aged 27, told a jury they met at a New Year party.

In the taxi to Mr Wrench's home, he said the presenter teased him about being his "sugar daddy".

"I think he was a bully, he was bullying me," the man told the court.

He was told by Mr Wrench that there was a bottle of expensive champagne at the flat, the jury heard.

At the time I was trying to get work experience with him and I really wanted to keep on being professional Alleged victim

But after one gulp of the drink, which tasted like "poison", he began to black out, the court heard.

He said the next thing he knew he was in Mr Wrench's bed.

The court heard Mr Wrench sexually assaulted and hit, punched and bit the man despite being told to stop.

The man said: "He wanted me to stop screaming. He said 'you're really scared aren't you? Stop being such a baby'.

"He just bit harder the more I tried to resist. I was feeling really violated."

Earlier, at the party, the man said he was "out of it" after they snorted cocaine in a toilet but backed away when the presenter started kissing him.

"I found him revolting," said the man, who cannot be named.

"At the time I was trying to get work experience with him and I really wanted to keep on being professional."

The man, who was working at an art gallery at the time, said he brushed off the presenter's initial advances and later talked to Mr Wrench about modern art, and was invited to see his art collection.

The man told the court: "He said 'don't worry, it won't be for sex'. I said 'I don't want to have sex with you'."

The case continues.
