Love you mum, thanks for letting me stay Miss Bowman's last words to mother 'Gruesome discovery'
"That astonishingly is his defence. It is born out of desperation. Miss Bowman had been driven home after a night out in Croydon Town Centre by her boyfriend Lewis Sprotson at about 0400 BST, the court was told.
"There is not a single grain of truth in it." The couple began to argue as they sat in the car outside Miss Bowman's house with each accusing the other of seeing other people, Mr Altman added.
Miss Bowman, the youngest of four daughters of Linda and Paul Bowman, died just two weeks after her 18th birthday, the court heard. Her family were in court. She had tried to stop Mr Sprotson driving off by sitting on the bonnet of the car, but as he left he had seen Sally Anne walking into her drive.
Mr Altman said Miss Bowman had been dropped off after a night out in Croydon Town Centre by her boyfriend Lewis Sprotson at about 0400 BST. Mr Altman said Lewis believed someone had been watching them and at one stage had "looked angrily" into the car.
The couple argued in the car outside her house and Miss Bowman had tried to stop him leaving by sitting on the car's bonnet. Neighbours heard screams at about 0420 BST but it was not until over two hours later that the "gruesome discovery" of the model's body was made.
The court was told neighbours heard her screams about 20 minutes afterwards but it was not until about 0630 BST that the "gruesome discovery" of the model's "mostly naked and bloodied body", was made.

She was living in a rented room but would sometimes stay with her mother, the court heard.
"The last thing Sally Anne said to her mum was 'love you mum, thanks for letting me stay' and she promised to send her a text message to inform her whether her sister was dropping her off home," Mr Altman said.
"Linda never received a text."
The court heard Miss Bowman was interested in music and drama and was awarded a place at the Brit (British Record Industry Trust) school in Croydon.
She was convinced that she was going to be a top model. Her ambition was to be on the front page of Vogue magazine, Mr Altman said.
According to her sister, a top modelling agency had started showing an interest in her, he added.
