A family dog attack which hospitalised a three-year-old girl "came out of the blue", Dyfed-Powys Police has said.

Officers were called to an address in Neyland, Milford Haven, at 14:45 BST on Thursday.

Police said the girl is "recovering well" after being treated for facial injuries at Morriston Hospital in Swansea.

The dog, a cross between a Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute, was destroyed with the family's consent.

A police spokeswoman said the attack was an "unfortunate incident that no one could have foreseen" and there will be no further investigation.
