Woman's body found on Calton Hill in Edinburgh

Police are investigating the discovery of a woman's body on Calton Hill in Edinburgh.

The emergency services were called to the area at about 04:30 after the body was found on a footpath.

Waterloo Place has been closed to allow for investigation work.

Police Scotland said they were treating the death as unexplained and they were at the "very early stages" of their inquiry.
