The party is keeping the focus on the economy while trying to reassure voters about the NHS. David Cameron says that his party will eliminate the deficit and be running a surplus by the end of parliament. The Conservative plan to increase spending on the NHS by £8 billion over the next five years. They hope the measure will be enough to counteract Labour’s claims that the NHS will deteriorate under a Conservative government. They are also promising to extend the “right-to-buy” to 1.3 million housing association homes in England.
