Four people have been killed and one person seriously injured in a two-car crash on a country road in Dorset. Three men and a woman have been killed in a head-on collision between two cars on a "very icy" country road in Dorset.
The crash happened on the Old Sherborne Road between Sherborne and Dorchester, near the Giants Head Caravan and Camping Park, Cerne Abbas, at 0700 GMT. The crash happened on the C12 Sherborne to Dorchester road near Giant's Head caravan and camping park, Cerne Abbas, Dorset shortly before 0700 GMT.
Police have confirmed that the casualties are adults and next-of-kin are being contacted. The woman, 27, was driving a red Peugeot 205 heading south when it collided with a silver Nissan Primera
Road closures are in place at the A37, Dorchester, and the A352, Middlemarsh, and diversions have been set up. The Nissan contained four men - only the driver survived with chest injuries. The others died at the scene.
The injured person is in a critical condition in hospital. The 34-year-old is being treated in a high dependency unit at Dorset County Hospital.
The Nissan occupants, who were all from Weymouth, were aged 28, 48 and 32.
The next-of-kin of both drivers have been notified.
The road was reopened shortly after 1415 GMT.
