A 10-year-old girl has been killed and her 13-year-old sister is in hospital following a crash on the A55 in Flintshire. A lorry driver has been arrested on suspicion of careless driving after a crash killed a 10-year-old girl.

The two girls were backseat passengers in one of the cars. The 13-year-old suffered injuries to her legs. The girl, whose identity has not been released, was a back seat passenger in one car with her sister, 13, who is in intensive care.
One of the cars was said by an eyewitness to be barely recognisable. The collision involved a heavy goods vehicle, a Rover and a Nissan Micra.
The 10-year-old girl is understood to have died at the scene. Helicopter
Two other people travelling in the same car were taken to hospital for precautionary checks. The North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, ambulance service and police helicopter were also called to the scene.
The carriageway was closed for several hours after the crash involving a Nissan Micra, a Rover and a lorry between Caerwys and Rhuallt Hill. Four occupants in the Rover were taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, where the 10-year-old girl was pronounced dead.
The eastern carriageway also shut for a while. Her sister - believed to have suffered leg injuries - remains in a serious but stable condition, police said. The two other occupants were given precautionary checks.
North Wales Police have appealed for witnesses to contact the control room on 01745 538431 The road was closed for nearly seven hours while officers investigated the scene.
The police spokeswoman added: "The driver of the HGV is currently in custody assisting with our inquiries after being arrested on suspicion of careless driving."
