The caller told the IOM's Rome office that three boats carrying 300 people were in need of immediate help, according to the Associated Press. He reported that there have already been 20 fatalities, and said that the boat is sinking. No further information has been provided, including the location of the call. This comes just a few days after one of the Mediterranean's largest disasters, in which up to 950 migrants may have died following a boat's capsize. More to follow |
