Bury murder probe: Man charged over wife's death

A man has been charged with murdering his 63-year-old wife at a house in Greater Manchester.

Susan Davenport was found with a single stab wound at a property on Rectory Lane, Bury, at about 16:45 BST on Tuesday.

Police said she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Earnest Davenport, 64, has been remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
