A 19-year-old man is being questioned by police after a car crashed into a house in Lisburn. A house in Lisburn may have to be demolished after it was hit by a car on Sunday.
An elderly couple could lose their home which might have to be demolished after the car hit it and burst into flames. Severe structural damage was caused to the Laurelhill Road home when the vehicle smashed through its garden wall and ran into the side of the house.
The couple, who are in their 70s, escaped injury in the crash at Laurelhill Road shortly after 0300 GMT on Sunday. The car then went on fire. An elderly couple who were sleeping inside were unhurt.
Emergency services were called to the scene. Structural engineers are assessing the damage to the house. A 19-year-old man was arrested on Sunday and is being questioned by police about the crash.
No-one was injured. A police spokesman said a teenager was helping them with their inquiries. Structural engineers are assessing the damage.
